Darksea/ui is a comprehensive, custom-built component library designed for your Ruby on Rails projects. Developed with Tailwind CSS, it offers a suite of user interface elements that are both user-friendly and highly customizable.

Prerequisites

Darksea/ui requires the following before you can use the components:

Getting started

1

Generate a new Rails app

For when you don't have a Rails app yet, you can generate one with the following command:
rails new myapp --css tailwind
2

Install ViewComponent

Add ViewComponent to your Gemfile:
gem 'view_component'
Then run:
bundle install
3

Configure tailwind.config.js

Here's how the tailwind.config.js file should look like:
const defaultTheme = require('tailwindcss/defaultTheme');

module.exports = {
  content: [
    './app/helpers/**/*.rb',
    './app/javascript/**/*.js',
    './app/components/**/*.rb',
    './app/views/**/*.{erb,haml,html,slim}',
  ],
  theme: {
    container: {
      center: true,
      padding: '2rem',
      screens: {
        '2xl': '1400px',
      },
    },
    extend: {
      fontFamily: {
        sans: ['Inter var', ...defaultTheme.fontFamily.sans],
      },
      colors: {
        border: 'hsl(var(--border))',
        input: 'hsl(var(--input))',
        ring: 'hsl(var(--ring))',
        background: 'hsl(var(--background))',
        foreground: 'hsl(var(--foreground))',
        primary: {
          DEFAULT: 'hsl(var(--primary))',
          foreground: 'hsl(var(--primary-foreground))',
        },
        secondary: {
          DEFAULT: 'hsl(var(--secondary))',
          foreground: 'hsl(var(--secondary-foreground))',
        },
        destructive: {
          DEFAULT: 'hsl(var(--destructive))',
          foreground: 'hsl(var(--destructive-foreground))',
        },
        muted: {
